So, it has been quite a while since I’ve been on here and spoken to you all…and nearly two weeks since I recorded a podcast episode too… And whilst I’m a big believer in being consistent with routine and this is by no means an excuse – you’ll understand why when you listen to my latest podcast episode ‘Stop Resisting Change’. There have been many changes occurring in my life at present. Changes that I have been hesitant to implement or accept but changes that were needed and will 100% move my life in the direction I want to live moving forward. I needed to adapt and I needed to change many things over the last couple of weeks and whilst doing that I had to accept the fact that my podcast needed to take a break in order for me to come back and hit you with some home truths. Stop resisting change! I mean it – just stop! Whatever is happening in the world right now and whatever change is occurring in your life – embrace it. It’s vital that we learn to adapt and change…right now! Why? Because… I believe that change is inevitable – it happens whether we plan for it ourselves or not.

“If you do not create change, change will create you.”

However, the problem we all face is that we are resistant to change and we don’t fully realize that change itself is constant. If we try to resist or avoid it, it will enter our life just the same. When we initiate the change ourselves though, it’s pretty easy to adapt to it, since it’s a change we want in our life. However, what I’d like to ask is this – Are the unplanned and unexpected changes actually bad? What if all changes were good by default? I have been embracing change for many years and during my adult life so much has changed that if I were to look back on my life 10 years ago – I don’t think I’d recognise myself…but that’s ok. Change is part of living and allows us to move forward, to grow, to learn, to evolve. I’m proud of myself for welcoming this change but it didn’t always feel easy at the time.

At first it can be difficult to comprehend and change can be annoying at times – because we all love to live a life of comfort, of knowing. And when change occurs it shifts us into the unknown. But what if we didn’t resist this and instead embraced it as another opportunity to learn something new about ourselves, others or the path we are on… The changes that have occurred over recent years have impacted on my life in such a profound way that if I had been resistant to them – I might not be where I am right now. And right now – I am happy, I am fulfilled, and I am living the life I love. These changes have made me more flexible and open-minded. I appreciate so much more in life and I embrace personal and cultural differences daily – I live for diversity.

The changes and shifts in my career brought me knowledge and new experiences. And as a result, this professional experience allowed me to develop and grow my own business far beyond what I ever imagined. I’ve grown in self-confidence and self-belief – all with the realization of what I wanted to do with my life. One of the biggest changes in life occurred when I got married. This change brought love, peace, and comfort into my life. As a result, a new me was born—me being a wife, a friend, a companion, and soul mate to man I love is like nothing I have ever experienced before. In general, when looking back, I realize that all the good things in my life are the results of changes that occurred in the past.
